It's looking like it could be a strong addition to horror gaming, but only time will tell whether it will be just as successful, and as scary, as the others. That's not to say this will be a stop-gap. However, until then, games such as Evil Inside will be able to tide horror fanatics over. With recent news that the Silent Hill composer, Akira Yamaoka, has been teasing a new announcement this summer, all fans can think about is a new game in the terrifyingly classic series. After Silent Hills was cancelled, and then the subsequent Allison Road was also dropped (but then brought back), there's only so much heartbreak fans can take. Developer JanduSoft has released a new trailer for its psychological horror title Evil Inside-and it looks very similar to the infamously delisted PlayStation 4-exclusive P.T. It has all the hallmarks of what makes a successful horror game these days, but hopefully it will bring its own unique take on the genre and stack up along with the best of them. The 2018 trailer above takes the viewer on a brief walkthrough of the locales that Evil Inside will feature.
Recently, Bloober Team admitted the design of the wife from Layers of Fear was inspired by Hideo Kojima's Lisa. It's becoming somewhat more common for horror developers to recapture what was lost when P.T. It may not have the visual fidelity of the Silent Hills teaser, or of the other iterations that have come about since, but it certainly has the style and even level design that fans will be familiar with. Evil Insides announcement trailer takes us down the claustrophobic hallways of a two-story house, where we can glimpse the supernatural looking down on us. The game itself is described as a first-person psychological horror, and the story follows Mark who, after his father is arrested for the murder of Mark's mother, attempts to contact her through a spiritual board. Evil Inside is a new horror game developed by independent studio JanduSoft and is arguably more P.T.
